Wilbur "Ozzie" Warren Obituary (1918 - 2006)

Wilbur "Ozzie" Warren, 88, of Pana died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. in Heritage Manor, Pana. He was born August 15, 1918 in Pana, the son of Zed M. and Jennie Read Warren. Wilbur served in the U.S. Marines from 1943-1946, and served in the first marine division in the Philippines, China, and Pacific Theater. He lived in Danville, Illinois and North Carolina for most of his adult life, but came back to Pana in 1998. He was a retired salesman in the furniture business. He attended the First Baptist Church, Pana, and was a past member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Elks, and Moose Club while in Danville. Wilbur married Alvena Brown and they later divorced. He then married Margaret Ellen Hawkins on June 27, 1980 in Danville, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Warren, North Carolina; daughter, Carolyn Newman and husband Ron, Shelbyville, IL; 3 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; sister, Helen Dean and husband Harry, Pana, IL; and brother: Rev. Charles Warren, Bluffton, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Harold Warren, Roscoe Warren, John Warren, and Everett Warren. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 19, 2006 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Gruis officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana, Illinois.
