Walter "Wally" Pall Obituary (1924 - 2009)

Walter "Wally" Pall, 84, of Pana, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. He was born November 8, 1924 in Gary, IN, the son of Dushan Anna Kovachevich Pall. Wally graduated high school in Gary, IN, attended college for 2 years, and served in the U.S. Navy. Wally was a long-time, well respected, and integral part of the Gary, IN community. Prior to moving to Pana 18 years ago, he owned and operated 5th Avenue Produce, Pac-a-Sac, The Gold Coast grocery stores in Gary, IN. He also had owned and operated a trucking business, and worked for EHA Securities. Wally was an avid fisherman, hunter, and chef, who traveled throughout the country with many friends and relative to enjoy the outdoors. He was also a member of the First United Pentecostal Church, Pana AmVets. He married Erica Diann Lira in Henderson, KY. Wally is survived by his wife, Erica Diann Pall, Pana, IL; children: Jill Smith, Merrillville, IN; Renee Anderson, San Antonio, TX; Magan Ippolito, San Antonio, TX; Regina Plappert husband Michael, San Antonio, TX; Angela Kirkpatrick husband Mark, Pana, IL; Anthony Pall, Pana, IL; Holly Pall, Pana, IL; Lisa Hall, Indiana; Tammy Ippolito, Chicago, IL; 8 grandchildren: Sam, Christian, Melissa, Elijah, Elizabeth, Ben, Steven, Jessica; 3 great grandchildren: Nate, Nicholas, Scarlett; and sisters: Bess Minger, Oakland, CA; Olga Calhoun, Cocoa Beach, FL; Priscilla (Angelo) Pampalone, Valpraiso, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff Pall, Hobart, IN; daughter, Erica Ippolito; brother, George Palmer, Houston, TX. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Saturday, October 3, 2009 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Russell officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
