Sherry Lyn Grear Obituary (1945 - 2015)

Sherry Lyn Grear, 69, of Pana died peacefully at 4:50 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2015 in her home with her family. Sherry was born October 25, 1945 in Pana to Robert Lillian Domonousky Grear. She graduated from Tower Hill High School in 1963 and Mr. John's School of Cosmetology in Decatur. Sherry owned and operated the Someplace Else Beauty Bar in Tower Hill for a number of years. She later worked as a cook at the Rosebud Caf before working as a deli manager at Hometown Foods, retiring in 2012. Sherry was well known for her artistic talent including landscape paintings and crafts. She also enjoyed gardening and baking traditional holiday favorites for her family and friends. One of Sherry's greatest joys was spending time with her nieces and nephews. Sherry is survived by her brothers Mike (Carolyn) Grear, McKinney, Texas and Butch (Brenda) Riley, Pana; a sister Kathy (Conrad) Schloz, Pana; and step-sisters Sue Mattox, Bandera, Texas; Barbara (Gene) McKittrick, Pana; and Ginny (Gary) Martz, Westervelt. Preceding her in death were her parents Lillian and Harry Riley and a step-sister Betty Kay Hund. Funeral Information As per Sherry's request, cremation rites will be accorded and no services will be held.
