Serena Mickey Obituary (1912 - 2006)

Serena Mickey, 94, of Pana died Friday, December 29, 2006 at 4:50 p.m. in Heritage Manor-Pana. She was born January 8, 1912 in Pana, IL, the daughter of Edward Matilda Gudehus Beyers. A graduate of Pana Township High School, Serena was a homemaker and had lived in the Pana area all of her life. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana; Ladies Society and Thimble Friends. Serena married Clarence B. Mickey on October 26, 1937 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana. She is survived by her son Gerald Mickey wife Gretchen, West Des Moines, IA; daughter-In-Law: Alice Mickey, Pana, IL; 5 grandchildren: Kevin Mickey wife Barbara; Tim Mickey wife Janaan; Dan Mickey; Jon Mickey wife Carla; John Mickey; 4 great grandchildren: Shelby Mickey, Ryan Mickey, Tanner Mickey, Drew Mickey; and by 3 step great grandchildren: Jennifer Durbin, Vanessa Wiseman, and Daniel Durbin. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband on July 5, 1995; son Donald Mickey on November 15, 2006; son Lyle Joseph Mickey in infancy; and by 6 brothers and sisters. Funeral Information Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Don J. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana. There will be no visitation.
