Rubea D. Ross Obituary (1947 - 2018)

Rubea D. Ross, 70, of Pana passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. She was born December 22, 1947 in Pana to the late Edward J. & Edna (Powers) Cohan. Rubea lived most of her life in Pana and worked for the Department of Revenue. She loved singing, playing guitar, mushroom hunting, four wheeling, & planting flowers in her garden. Rubea also enjoyed going to rummage sales with her sisters, playing on the computer and talking politics. She adored her grandchildren and loved being with her family, who were the most important part of her life. She treasured each one and they were all very special to her. She married Larry Perry and they later divorced. She then married Richard L. Ross and he preceded her in death. Rubea is survived by her children: Sam (Gayle) Perry, Tower Hill, IL and Angie Gravatt, Assumption, IL; grandchildren: Tyler Merritt, Justin Merritt, Samantha Perry & Lane Perry; great grandson, Zac Merritt; brother, Jim (Elaine) Cohan, Nokomis, IL; and several nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers & sisters: Bob Cohan, Jack Cohan, Louis Cohan, Kathryn Cohan, Joyce Taylor, Eula Gann, Mary Hunter, Jerry Cohan, Donnie Cohan, Warren Cohan & David Cohan. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. with Clyde Kallal officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Memorials in Rubea's honor may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
