Royal E. "Web" Weber Obituary (1924 - 2016)

Royal E. "Web" Weber, 91, of rural Nokomis died Saturday, March 26, 2016 in his home. He was born April 8, 1924 in Pana, the son of Carl William Maude Mae Ranacker Weber. A graduate of Pana Township High School Class of 1943, Royal served in the U S Army from 1945 to 1947 and was in the motor pool at Pearl Harbor. He was privileged to go on an Honor Flight to Washington DC. He lived most of his life in Pana and rural Nokomis except for a few years in Argenta. Web was a member of the Roy Ireland Post #317 over 70 years; Oconee Masonic Lodge#392 AFAM over 60 years, now a member of Clover Leaf Lodge #990 AFAM; Vandalia Moose Lodge over 50 years; Montgomery County Farm Bureau; Illinois Beef Producers; Birthday Club; Blacksmith Association; Mid State Collectors Club; and Old Tyme Collectors Club. He had worked at CAT from 1956 until his retirement in 1986. He owned his own welding shop. Royal E. Weber and Nora Fern Grubaugh were united in marriage on February 14, 1947 in Vandalia, IL. He is survived by his daughters: Carla Calhoun husband Gerry, Brownstown, IL and Jean Ann "Petey" Durbin husband Dave, Oconee, IL; grandchildren: Angie Bell (Jeff), Taylorville, IL; James R. Patton Jr., (Jennifer) Pennsylvania, Michael E. Patton (Mary Wrachford), Ohlman, IL; Shannon Ponzel (Mark), Vandalia, IL; Jeff Eckard (Jessica), Bluff City, IL; Georganne DuFaux (John), Vandalia, IL; and Desi Henschen (Kendal), Pana, IL; great grandchildren: Shane Ponzel, Michelle Ponzel, Shawn Ponzel, Jarrod Eckard, Ruth Ann Patton, Nora Patton, Elsie Patton, Alauna Grace Patton, BreAnn Patton, Bailey Patton, McKayla Patton, Rainey "Raindrop" DuFaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife on May 6, 2010; daughter Marsha Patton in November 1984; brothers sisters: Esther Harker, John Weber, Dorothy Sparks, Charles Robert Weber, and Richard Weber in infancy. Funeral Information Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be Sunday at 8:00 p.m. by Clover Leaf Lodge #990 AFAM. Funeral services will be Monday, April 4, 2016 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. with John Saunders and Edmund Hill officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pana with graveside military rites by Roy Ireland Post #317.
