Roberta Eilers Obituary (1916 - 2009)

Roberta Eilers, 92, of Pana, died Monday, September 28, 2009 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was born October 18, 1916 in Tower Hill, the daughter of Charles M. and Beulah B. Abrell Perry. A graduate of Tower Hill High School, Roberta lived her entire life in the Pana and Tower Hill areas. Roberta worked as a receptionist for Dr. Littlejohn, and worked for Dr. Tankersley in Taylorville. She also was a sales clerk at Penwell, PN Hersch, and Barbara's. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pana; Women's Society; Pana Community Hospital Auxiliary; and a 50 year member of the Arcana Chapter #493 Order of the Eastern Star, Pana. Roberta married Fred J. Eilers on August 27, 1938 in the First United Methodist Church, Pana. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1990. She is survived by her daughters: Karolynn Eilers, Sally Eilers, both of Pana, IL; sisters: Arlene (Phil) Tillman Lorene Haines, both of Riverside, CA; and several nieces nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers: Robert Perry, Meredith Perry, Paul Perry; 1 sister: Florence Potts. Funeral Information Services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home with the Eastern Star service beginning at 11:00 a.m. immediately followed by the funeral service with Dr. David Hultberg officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
