Paul L. "Bud" Berroyer Obituary (1916 - 2008)

Paul L. "Bud" Berroyer, 92, of Pana died Monday, December 22, 2008 in Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana. He was born January 30, 1916 in Pana, the son of Louis A. Ada Virga Payne Berroyer. He was a graduate of Pana High School. Bud was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana; Pana Knights of Columbus; former member of Pana Country Club for 60 years and avid golfer. He was an IBEW construction electrician, retiring in 1981. He was an avid ham radio operator for 70 years. During the war, he was a ham operator in the Naval Reserves and recently had passed on information for victims of Hurricane Katrina and soldiers in Iraq. He was a pilot and part of the civil air patrol. Bud married Viola "Dola" DeChaney in 1941. He is survived by his wife: Viola "Dola" Berroyer, Pana; daughters: Judy Holthaus and Jean Crosby husband Jim, both of Pana; son: James Berroyer wife Carla, Hot Springs, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral Information A memorial mass will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. William F. Kessler officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana.
