Normagene A. Scott Obituary (1927 - 2009)

Normagene A. Scott, of Paris, IL, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in her home with her loving husband and devoted daughters by her side. She was born July 8, 1927 in Pana, the daughter of Gilbert and Meta Reincke Cooper. Normagene graduated from Pana High School in 1944, and attended 1 year of nursing school in Springfield, IL. She lived in Shelbyville and Nokomis for most of her life. Normagene was a retired bookkeeper, and had worked for Gordon Olds-Pontiac-GMC, Taylorville, IL, as well as Carl Grabb Motors, Shelbyville, IL and Jack Hart Chevrolet, Nokomis, IL. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Paris, IL, where she helped with church activities and taught Sunday school. She also taught Sunday school classes at various other Lutheran churches. Normagene was also a member of the Lutheran Women's League, American Business Women's Association, Business Management Club, long time member of the VFW Auxiliary, and was an Outreach volunteer. She held many official positions in each of these associations. She loved reading and watching her noon soap on a daily basis. Normagene married Walter "Putt" Scott on November 21, 1987 in Nokomis, IL. She is survived by her husband: Walter "Putt" Scott, Paris, IL; children: Roger Goodwin wife Sandy, Shelbyville, IL; Pat Rodman husband David, Findlay, IL; Frank Goodwin wife Mona, Ft. Myers, FL; Don Goodwin, Nokomis, IL; Barb Garner husband Jay, Westmont, IL; 12 grandchildren: Dianne, Jennifer, Tim, Krysie, Josh, Bonnie, Billy, Toby, JR, Shane, Kira, Karlee; 3 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother: Donald Cooper, Mulberry Grove, IL. Preceding Normagene in death were her parents, 3 grandchildren, sister, Virginia. Funeral Information Visitation will be Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 2 to 5 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23, 2009 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ryan Fehrmann officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond, IL.
