Myrtle Louisa Brown Obituary (1936 - 2023)

Myrtle Louisa Brown, 86, of Macon passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 in Heritage Health--Pana. She was born September 4, 1936 in Perry County, IL to the late Floyd & Anna (Jones) Hubler. She married Donald Brown on August 8, 1953 in Hernando, MS. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2011. Myrtle worked as a hairdresser from 1961-1976, then worked as a bookkeeper at K&M Rentals in Decatur. She was a member of the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church and then the Oreana Baptist Church from 2012 to present. She enjoyed quilting, reading, Suduko & puzzles. Myrtle is survived by her children: Claudia (Joseph) Hatfield; Robert Brown & Michael Brown (Sheila Brown); daughter-in-law, Sheila Brown; 4 grandchildren: Adam (Marla) Barton, Jake Peters, Lucas (Kristy) Jacobs & Benjamin Jacobs; 5 great grandchildren: Drew, Mason & Jake Cox and Sawyer & Dalton Barton and sister, Eleanor Love, Huntsville, AL. In addition to her parents & husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Lee Brown, Jr. on July 23, 1969 and sisters: Betty Roland & Shirley Carver. A graveside service for Myrtle will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL with Keith Schmutzler officiating. Memorials in Myrtle's honor may be made to the Oreana Baptist Church and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
