Mr. Wilbur Eugene Whitehead Obituary (1935 - 2005)

Wilbur Eugene Whitehead Wilbur Eugene Whitehead, 70, of Pana, died Sunday, August 14, 2005 at 10:23 a.m. in Pana Community Hospital. He was born January 2, 1935 in Fancher, IL, the son of David F. Faye Shanholtzer Whitehead. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. Wilbur was employed by Schaper Company in Pana for over 30 years. He lived in the Shelbyville and Pana area his entire life. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and tinkering in his garage. Wilbur married Sharon E. Stanberry on August 3, 1957 in Chicago. He is survived by his children: Crystal Clark, Pana, IL; Monica Harbour husband Chris, Lincoln, IL; Tom Whitehead wife Tina, Edinburg, IL; Les Whitehead, Monee, IL; 6 grandchildren: Katrina, Julie, Alexa, Callie, Jake Kimi; 1 great grandson: Josh; and his sisters: Pearl Donaldson and Sarah Reed, both of Shelbyville and Margaret Morgan in Indiana. The Whiteheads also were foster parents for several nieces and nephews. Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife on March 26, 2005; daughter, Peggy in infancy; twin brother Williard Whitehead, brother William Whitehead; 2 sisters: Lela Carpenter, Marybelle Whitehead; and half-sister Fleeta Griffith. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Wednesday August 17, 2005 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Allen Ebbler officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home.
