Merlyn D. Owens Obituary (1933 - 2022)

Merlyn D. Owens, 88, of Pana passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 in Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana. He was born March 4, 1933 in Henton, IL to the late Charles & Leona (Rodman) Owens. Merlyn married Wanda Cothern on July 26, 1959. She preceded him in death on October 16, 1995. Merlyn was a graduate of Tower Hill High School and was a farmer in Pana. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Roy) Elliott, Sherman, IL and 3 grandchildren: Blake Elliott, Surprise, AZ; Brandon Elliott, Springfield, IL; Benjamin Elliott, Sherman, IL A graveside service for Merlyn will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 in Mound Cemetery, Pana at 11:00 a.m. Memorials in Merlyn's honor may be made HSHS Hospice and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
