Mary Jane "Janie" Meachum Obituary (1933 - 2022)

Mary Jane "Janie" Meachum, 89 of Pana, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at her home. She was born February 4, 1933, in Pana, IL to the late John & Alta (Smith) Inman. She married Keith Carl "Meach" Meachum on June 29, 1951. He preceded her on November 22, 1999. Janie was a graduate of the Pana Township High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pana and Arcana Order of Eastern Star. She worked as Head cook for Pana Junior High School until retirement. She was a diehard Illini Basketball fan and kept up with Pana Panther sports for both the boys' and girls' teams. She volunteered for Faith in Action and enjoyed socializing with others. Janie's biggest love was her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Janie is survived by her children: Brian (Alice) Meachum, Ramsey, IL; Jean (Larry) Wenger, Cibolo, TX; Kevin (Donna) Meachum, Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Jessica Beyers, Jeff (Doris) Beyers, Jason (Michelle) Beyers, Ryan (Rachael) Meachum, Cody (Megan) Meachum, Amanda (Austin) Cunningham, Sasha (Lisa) Nelson, Dakota Allen, Kaitlyn Meachum; great-grandchildren: Camille Beyers, Gemma Beyers, Logan Meachum, Emily Meachum, Harper Meachum, Ada Cunningham, Amelia Cunningham, T.J. Cunningham (arriving soon), Adilee Meachum, and Kendrick Meachum; sister: Martha DeLuka, Pana, IL; and sister-in-law, Donna Inman, Pana, IL. She was also preceded by her children: Keith Meachum and Janet Beyers; grandson, Shawn Meachum, great-grandson, Clayven Meachum; and siblings, Jim Inman and Margaret White. Funeral services for Janie will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jessica Baldyga officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery, Oconee. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials in Janie's honor may be made to Pana Community Hospital Foundation for the MRI Suite and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
