Kenneth W. "Ken" Plants Obituary (1955 - 2021)

Kenneth W. "Ken" Plants, 66, of Pana passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on September 30, 1955 in Natrona Heights, PA, to the late William & Theoris (Howard) Plants. Ken married Annette Lehn on August 16, 1986 in the First Presbyterian Church, Pana and she survives. After graduating high school, Ken went to electrical & mechanical trade schools and had worked in maintenance at PPG/Fuyao Glass in Mt. Zion, IL for nearly 40 years. Ken attended Pana First Church of the Nazarene. He had a great sense of humor and a stubborn side. He loved the outdoors, the farm, lighthouses, trains, telling stories and talking to everyone. His greatest love was his family and the Lord. In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by his children: Rebecca Kiser (fiance Roy Bates), Pana, IL; Michael Kiser (fiance Valerie Scott), Champaign, IL; Gregory (Brooke) Kiser, Pana, IL; Jennifer (Edward) Cross, Pana, IL; Eric (Megan) Plants, Ramsey, IL; Sarah Plants, Roulette, PA; grandchildren: Emily, Lauren, Alyssa, Autumn, Lillian, Brayden, Leah, Owen, Noah, Jadyn, Makenzie, Adaline, Rosalie, Lyla, coming soon, Baby Cross, Emma, Carter, Connor & Ellie; siblings: Judy Beale, Kennesaw, GA; Joyce Napierkowski, Freeport, PA and Carol Stiller, Freeport, PA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jim Plants and sister, Nancy Plants in infancy. Funeral services for Ken will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Pana First Church of the Nazarene at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Todd Holman officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond immediately following. Visitation will be held Monday, November 29, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. Memorials in Ken's honor may be made to the Pana First Church of the Nazarene or to the family and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
