Joseph Wayne Nantkes Obituary (1937 - 2016)

Joseph Wayne Nantkes, 78, of Pana died Friday, February 26, 2016 in Pana. He was born August 12, 1937 in Tower Hill and was a graduate of Tower Hill High School. He served as a medic in the US Army. Joe lived in the country all of his life in the Tower Hill and Pana area. He was retired from the Illinois Central Railroad after 42 years where he was a machine operator. He liked to spend time reading. Joe is survived by his significant other: Phyllis Daniels, Pana; the boys: Bob Coady Daniels, Pana; Pam (Brian) Blodgett family, Pana; sister: Mary Merritt, Pana; cousins: Buck (Kay) Miller, Pana; Butch (Nancy) Miller, Herrick, Lee Miller, Oconee; several nieces nephews and great nieces nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Wayne Nantkes and mother Martha Robertson. Funeral Information Services are private.
