Johnny Len Bennett Obituary (1954 - 2023)

Johnny Len Bennett, 68, of Tower Hill passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 in his home. He was born May 25, 1954 in Pana, IL, son of the late Harold S. "Bud" & Virginia Pauline "Ginny" (Collenberger) Bennett. Johnny and Laura Peck were married on August 20, 2005 in Tower Hill and she survives. Johnny worked as a machinist for International Paper and then at Hydro-Gear in Sullivan for 10 years. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears & Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed traveling, gardening & being outside. He loved his family and spending time with & spoiling his grandchildren. Along with his wife, Johnny is survived by his children: Zachary (Courtney) Bennett & Andy Bennett: stepchildren: Justin Walker & Joshua (Malia) Walker; 13 grandchildren and sister, Judy (Steve) Hedenberg, Forsyth, IL. Per Johnny's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. The family will host a memorial service on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Tower Hill Christian Church. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the church. Memorials in Johnny's honor may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
