John "Jack" Kindermann Obituary (1931 - 2017)

John Jack Kindermann, 85, of Pana died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in his home. He was born March 9, 1931 in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Franz Joseph & Mary Corienna DeBrun Kindermann. He was a graduate of Pana High School where he was captain of the football team. He attended SIU and also attended college in Arkansas on a football scholarship. John Kindermann and Grace Helen Petit were united in marriage on January 4, 1951 in Pana. Jack and Grace moved to West Chicago, IL where they raised their five children, retiring in Pana in 1996. He was a retired superintendent of the Water and Waste Water Department of the Village of Itasca, IL. He served as an alderman in West Chicago for 12 years. Jack was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, Pana Knights of Columbus, Pana Moose Lodge #1015, Pana Senior Citizens, and AFSCME. He enjoyed working with his hands, he was a fixer-upper. He worked on televisions and liked mechanical work. He also enjoyed playing golf. Jack is survived by his children: Deborah Batterton & husband Don, Green Valley, IL; John Kindermann & wife Michelle, Brimfield, IL; Mike Kindermann & wife Edie, Bloomington, IL; Steve Kindermann, Rockford, IL; and Jeff Kindermann & wife Judy, Downers Grove, IL; 9 grandchildren: Stacy, Kami, Tim, Mark, Matt, Jennifer, Heather, Kimberly 21 great grandchildren; brother Robert Bob Kindermann, Pana, IL and sister Mary Ann Cooksey, Pana, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife on December 18, 2005, brother Frank Kindermann and sister Corienna Frost. Funeral Information Funeral mass will be Saturday, February 4, 2017 in St. Patricks Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home with rosary at 7:00 p.m. Casket Bearers: Tim Spatzek, Matt Kindermann, Derek Armstrong, Mark Kindermann, Jordan Powell, Scott Kindermann.
