Joanne G. Siegert Obituary (1931 - 2009)

Joanne G. Siegert, 77, of Pana, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Heritage Manor-Pana. She was born July 20, 1931 in Chicago, the daughter of James and Marion Humphreville Gardiner. After graduating from high school, Joanne attended the University of Illinois for 2 years. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She had lived in New York, Chicago, Kansas City, MO, and Nebraska, but had been in Pana for the past 50 years. Joanne retired as an assistant cashier from People's Bank of Pana in the early 1990's. She attended the First United Methodist Church, Pana, and was a member of the Red Hat Society, FortNightly Club, D.A.R., Pana Country Club, and several card clubs. Joanne also enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and playing cards with her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She married Wayne E. Siegert on September 29, 1951 in Dearborn, Michigan, and he survives in Pana, along with her children: Wes Siegert wife Sheila, Glendale, AZ Jennifer Jones husband Steve, Oconee; son-in-law: Steve Chladny, Pana; 6 grandchildren: Tracy Mizeur husband Michael; Matt Jones wife Christy; Diane Chladny; Andrew Siegert; Ben Siegert wife Whitney; Megan Jones; and 3 great grandchildren: Mason Siegert, Colton Mizeur, Bret Mizeur. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kimberley Ann Chladny; brother, James Gardiner; nephew, Jamie Gardiner. Funeral Information A memorial service will be held Monday, May 4, 2009 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Walter B. Carlson officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
