Joann Witt Obituary (1940 - 2015)

Joann Witt, 74, of Pana, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 in her home. She was born May 16, 1940 in Ramsey, IL, the daughter of Fred Velma Carlock Stout, deceased. Joann was a graduate of Stonington High School, Class of 1958. She had lived in Pana since 1962. She had worked at the garment factory in Taylorville and Mallory's in Pana, as well as did home care for the elderly. Joann loved quilting, flowers, and especially her family friends. Joann married Ronnie Burch in 1958 in Taylorville. They later divorced. She married Gale L. "Shorty" Witt on June 30, 1962 in Pana. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2002. Joann is survived by her children: Rhonda Doolin husband Ron, Pana, IL and Walter Witt, Oakwood, IL; granddaughter: Ashley Witt, Taylorville, IL; and sisters: Pearl Lewis, Centerville, TN and Elsie Patrick, Pana, IL. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded by a son, Randy G. Witt on September 1, 2012; premature daughter in 1962; sisters: Izola Mae Law Melissa Stout; and brother, Frank Ishmael. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Leon Goff officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery, Oconee. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
