Jessie J. Dilley Obituary (1930 - 2017)

Jessie J. Dilley, 87, of Pana, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 in his home. He was born February 28, 1930 in Henton, IL, son of the late John Aaron & Stella Sanford Dilley. He lived his entire life in Pana, except for a few years in Villa Grove. He was a lifetime member of the Pana Moose Lodge #1015 & past member of United Rail Workers Union. Jessie worked as a laborer for the C&EI Railroad, Missouri Pacific, & Union Pacific, working from 1953 until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed yardwork, gardening, & building things. He was a good mechanic. He also liked to go fishing, especially catfishing, traveling to the Southern Illinois, and loved the outdoors. Jessie J. Dilley and Shirley A. Raulston were married on April 11, 1953 in Pana. He is survived by his wife: Shirley Dilley, Pana, Ill; children: Terry Dilley, West Salem, IL Jeffrey Dilley, Pana, IL; Jesse Randy (Kathy) Dilley, Pana, IL; John (Mindy) Dilley, Las Vegas, NV; Linda (Robert) Jones, West Salem, IL; Cathy Slunaker, Newton, IL; Becky (Jeremy) Durbin, Pana, IL; grandchildren: Chad, Shawna, Jessica, Jacque, Kim, Jesse, Vincent, Jareth, Samantha, Michelle, Kim, David, Kris, Dalton, Seth (Sierra); great grandchildren: Ashley, Autumn, Luke, Hannah, Heather, Maddy, Grace, Byron, Wyatt, Deckard, Jaxon, Patrick, Emily, Cheyenne, Jayden, Lyla, Lexi, Felicia, Hayley, Brianna, Shalyn, Neicy, LeAndra; brothers: Gene Dilley & Woodrow Dilley; and sisters: Leatha Thomas & Shirley Jones. He was also preceded by his daughters, Becky Dilley & Bonnie Dilley; grandsons, Andrew Dilley & Jason Dilley; sisters, LulaBelle, Margaret, Josephine, & Reatha Dilley; brothers, Roy, James, Paul, Dale, John, Bennie, George, Alberta. Funeral Information Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Henton Cemetery with remembrances by the family.
