Jane Lebon Obituary (1930 - 2022)

Jane Lebon, 92, of Pana passed away Monday, August 22, 2022 in Carriage Crossing Assisted Living, Taylorville. She was born April 3, 1930 in Heflin, LA to the late Harlie & Ottie Lee (Saunders) Barnes. Jane married Ronald Lebon on June 9, 1955 in Shreveport, LA. He preceded her in death on February 27, 2022. Jane was a homemaker for 66 years. She was a member of the Pana Elks Auxiliary, Red Hat Society and helped with Meals on Wheels for several years. She enjoyed baking, knitting, sewing, quilting, cooking and serving others. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jane is survived by her daughters: Debbie (Butch) Choate & Lynda (Gene) Nance; daughter-in-law, Paula Lebon; 7 grandchildren: Dawn (Tom) Henderson, Shawn (Scott) Collins, Katy (Zac) Choate, Gena Nance, Sara (Nate) Moseley, Chris Choate, Aaron (Maddison) Nance; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Will Lebon and 3 sisters: Velma, Anita & Betty. A service celebrating both Ron and Jane will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jessica Baldyga officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pana. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home. Together again. When you saw Ronald, you saw Jane. They were always together, and this celebration of life is for the two of them. They enjoyed doing so many things together, such as square dancing, helping at the Pana Elks, working in the garden, and spending so much time with the grandchildren. Memorials in Jane's honor may be made to the Pana Education Foundation, Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry or Illinois Elks Children's Care Corporation and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
