James "Jim" McKenzie Obituary (1925 - 2010)

James "Jim" McKenzie, 85, of Pana, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010 in Prairie Rose Health Care Center, after a lengthy illness. He was born January 31, 1925 in West Blocton, AL, the son of Robert and Jessica Stevens McKenzie. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from Consolidated Coal Co. in 1983. Jim was a life member of the Pana VFW Post #4431, Pana Elks Lodge #1261, and a member of the Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C. Jim is survived by Lois Romanger McKenzie, his wife of 61 years. He is also survived by his son, Mike McKenzie wife Terri of Champaign, IL. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Don McKenzie on May 5, 2007, five brothers and three sisters. Funeral Information Graveside memorial services will be Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Linwood Cemetery, Pana with Rev. Leon Goff, of the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church, officiating and graveside military rites by VFW/American Legion/AmVets Honor Guard, Pana.
