Jack L. Cohan Obituary (1933 - 2007)

Jack Cohan, 74, of Pana, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in Heritage Manor-Pana. He was born March 12, 1933 in Pana, IL, the son of Edward John Edna Mae Powers Cohan. He was a retired military medic and later served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He loved music and mechanics. Jack was a life member of the Pana VFW Post #4431, Pana Elks Lodge #1261, Pana Eagles Lodge #4109. He married Shirley Pope on April 28, 1955 at Pana City Hall. He is survived by his wife Shirley Cohan of Pana; son Michael Cohan of Pana; five grandchildren: Jim Cohan Shawn Cohan, both of Shelbyville, IL; Jessica Gee, Pana, IL; Jim Gee, Shelbyville, IL; Crystal Bland, Pana, IL; two great grandchildren: Drake Bland Gaven Bland; brothers sisters: Robert E. Cohan, Joyce Taylor, Jim Cohan, Mary Hunter, Ruby Ross, Donald Cohan. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and three brothers. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Friday, December 28, 2007 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. with Mike Sisk eulogist. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield at 11:00 a.m. with graveside military rites by Sangamon County InterVeterans Burial Detail. There will be no visitation.
