Idalene "Ida" Koontz Obituary (1926 - 2007)

Idalene "Ida" Koontz, 81, of Pana, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. She was born November 12, 1926 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Glenn Mabel Hunter. Ida was a graduate of Shelbyville High School and attended St. Mary's of the Woods in her later years. She had lived in the Shelbyville and Pana areas most of her life. Ida was the Social Service Director at Pana Community Hospital for over 30 years, and prior to that she worked in the business office of the hospital. She was also a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Pana. Ida married Alfred Koontz, Jr., and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1979. Ida is survived by several cousins including: Norma Landson, Pana, IL; Betty Ramirez, Effingham, IL; Joan Moore, Salem, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband. Funeral Information A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John's United Church of Christ, Pana with Rev. Marilyn Rauch officiating. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to the St. John's United Church of Christ fellowship hall, where a meal will be served.
