Helen D. Laker Obituary (1924 - 2013)

Helen D. Laker, 89, of Pana, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was born April 19, 1924 in Pana, the daughter of John Eva Devor Brady. Helen had lived in Pana her entire life, except for one year. She had worked at the hairpin factory, was a homemaker, and was an assistant at the laundry mat. She enjoyed babysitting. Helen D. Brady and Joseph M. Laker were married in Coronado, CA in 1948. He preceded her on March 17, 2010. She is survived by her children: Helen I. Laker, Pana, IL and John Joe Laker wife Debbie, Pana, IL; 2 grandchildren:Starla Dawn Hostetler, Pana, IL Chaka Arie Laker, Taylorville, IL; 3 great grandchildren: Riley Jo Laker, Dominick Martin Stanberry, Azya Darlene Stanberry. Besides her husband, she was preceded by her parents; daughter, Nancy JoAnne Hostetler; 1 son in infancy; brothers: Jack David Brady. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lila Chaplin officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond. Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home.
