Hazel Claudine Ruot Obituary (1927 - 2015)

Hazel Claudine Ruot, 88, of Pana, died Thursday, May 21, 2015 in Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana. She was born April 13, 1927 in Assumption, IL, the daughter of Harry Janie (York) Whennen, preceded. Hazel lived in Oconee most of her life and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Oconee. She made her living as a homemaker. Hazel Whennen and Emil Laverne Ruot were married on April 30, 1943 in Taylorville, IL. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2012. Hazel is survived by her children: Patricia Ann Bumgardner husband Darrel, Oconee, IL; Mike Ruot, Springfield, IL; and Betty Jo Saunders husband Charles, Ramsey, IL; 8 grandchildren: Denise Peters, Darren Bumgardner, Phillip Bumgardner, Tyra Saunders, Chuck Saunders, John Ruot, Brian Ruot, and Brad Ruot; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers sisters: Theda Adams, Clinton, IL; Ellen Stanton, Michigan; and Jack Whennen, Decatur, IL. Besides her parents husband, she was preceded by 4 sisters 2 brothers. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Russell officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery, Oconee. Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
