Emil Laverne Ruot Obituary (1922 - 2012)

Emil Laverne Ruot, 90, of Pana, IL, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. He was born May 4, 1922 in Pana, IL, the son of Charles Eugene and Pearl Crocker Ruot. Emil served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He went to school in rural Oconee and lived most of his life in Oconee and Pana except when he was in the military. Emil was retired from Prairie Farms Dairy where he worked over 30 years. He was a member of the Roy Ireland Post #317 American Legion, Oconee, IL. Emil Laverne Ruot and Hazel Claudine Whennen were united in marriage on April 30, 1943 in Taylorville, IL. Emil is survived by his wife Hazel Claudine Ruot, Pana; children: Patricia Ann Bumgardner and husband Darrel, Oconee, IL, Betty Jo Saunders and husband Charles, Ramsey, IL, Mike Ruot, Springfield, IL, 8 grandchildren: Denise Peters, Darren Bumgardner, Phillip Bumgardner, Tyra Saunders, Chuck Saunders, John Ruot, Brian Ruot, and Brad Ruot, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and by his brother Lyle Ruot, Moweaqua, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Amy Marie Ruot, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Saturday, July 28, 2012 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 9:00 a .m. with Rev Robert Russell officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery, Oconee, IL with graveside military rites by the Roy Ireland Post #317 American Legion. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
