Edith Dorothy Banning Obituary (1913 - 2008)

Edith Dorothy Banning, 94, of Decatur, formerly of Pana, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in Heritage Manor-Mt. Zion. She was born July 6, 1913 in Rochester, IL, the daughter of Theodore B. Elna M. Ferdinansen Foster. Edith had lived in Minnesota and moved to Pana in 1951. She then moved from Pana to Decatur in 2003. She worked at Pana Community Hospital as a practical nurse, and also cared for the elderly in their homes. Edith was also a member of the Pana Christian Church. She married Charles E. Morgan. He preceded her in death in 1948. She then married Charles D. Banning. He preceded her in death in 1972. Edith is survived by her son: Charles E. Morgan, Sr., Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Charles E. Morgan, Jr., Etta Mae Gregg, Donald Wright, Lora Steck; 13 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; daughter, Viola B. Wright; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 4 sisters; 1 brother. Funeral Information Per Edith's wishes, cremation rights will be accorded and no services will be held.
