Edgar L. "Scotty" Scott Obituary (1927 - 2007)

Edgar L. "Scotty" Scott, 80, of Pana, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007 in Heritage Manor--Pana. He was born January 12, 1927 in Pana, the son of George W. and Marie Hocq Scott. Scotty was a graduate of Pana Township High School, and served 4 years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He lived his entire life in the Pana area, except when he was in the service. Scotty was retired from National Greenhouse, and started Scotty's Repair Service. He delivered Meals on Wheels and drove many miles while volunteering for the Pana Senior Citizens Center. He also played the drums in the Pana Senior Citizens Kitchen Band. Scotty was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pana; VFW Post #4431, Pana, where he was past commander two times; past President of the Pana Senior Citizens Center; past President of Elks Lodge #1261, Pana; member of the Moose Lodge #1015, Pana. He married Alvena M. Brown on November 14, 1970 in Tower Hill, IL. She preceded him in death on November 15, 1999. Scotty is survived by his constant companion, Viola Armstrong, Pana, IL; brother: Clifford Scott, Pana, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Levenne Scott. Funeral Information Visitation will be Friday, November 2, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 3, 2007 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Allen Ebbler officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery with graveside military rites by VFW/AmVets/American Legion Honor Guard, Pana.
