Betty Virginia (Suders) Beck Obituary (1928 - 2016)

Betty Virginia (Suders) Beck, wife of Rollie Benton Beck of Greencastle, PA, died on Wednesday June 15, 2016. She passed peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Michael Horan of O'Fallon, Missouri after a long illness. Betty was born June 7, 1928 in Chambersburg, PA, to Paul and Helen (Monn) Suders. She was the oldest of 6 children. She lived in the Chambersburg area most of her life. Betty and Rollie Beck, of Oconee, were married April 8th 1949. They had one daughter, Connie and one granddaughter Bridget Horan of Orlando, FL. Betty was an accomplished bowler and an instructor of many youth bowling leagues and also worked for Buchanan Lanes of Mercersburg, PA for many years. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, going to bingo and going to the "boat"! Betty especially enjoyed her two trips to Walt Disney World. She was a member of the Roy Ireland American Legion Auxiliary of Oconee, IL. Betty is survived by her daughter, Connie (Michael) Horan; granddaughter, Bridget Horan; brothers and sisters, Paul (Ruth) Suders, Jr., David (Darlene) Suders, Nancy (Bing) Pefley, and Shirley (Charles) Williams, all of the Chambersburg, PA area; brother-in-law Johnny Beck, Pana, IL; sisters-in-law, Theresa Beck, Oconee, IL and Joyce Beck, La Puente, CA; and several nieces and nephews in many states. Betty was preceded by her parents, husband Rollie, two infant grandsons: Chad Jeremy Eck and Michael Dennis Horan, Jr., and her sister Peg Wagner. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service and inurnment will be held in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania at a later date.
