Betty J. Yarber Obituary (2016 - 2016)

Betty J. Yarber, 90, of Pana died Sunday, October 23, 2016 in her home. She was born July 11, 1926 in Pana, IL, the daughter of the late Thomas James & Ella Elizabeth Forbes Harlow. She lived in Pana until age 16 when she moved to Chicago and returning to Pana in 1989. A homemaker, Betty was a member of Tower Hill Christian Church and was active in the Salvation Army Home League; and she was a Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed all kinds of craft, especially crocheting. She crocheted afghans for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and babies in her family. She also made hats and scarves to send to Appalachia. Betty J. Harlow married Carmon W. Yarber on December 20, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2003. Betty is survived by her sons: Gary Yarber & wife Georgette, Pana, IL and Thomas Yarber & wife Claudia, Justice, IL; 4 granddaughters: Jeannie Karbach, Pana; Georgette Taylor, Plano, TX; Jackie Wiseman, Taylorville; Lia Cavallo, Georgia; and by 7 great grandchildren: Jacob Taylor, Brianna Wiseman, Isabella Taylor, Andrew Karbach, Carmon Wiseman, Mylie Wiseman and Laci Wiseman. She was also preceded in death by her son David Wayne Yarber, who was killed in Vietnam, daughter Cathy Cavallo, sisters, Val Moore & Pearl Anderson, and by her brothers Thomas Harlow & Pete Harlow. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Friday, October 28, 2016 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Derrick Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetey. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. Music: Erica Porter, Pianist and Stephen Porter, Vocalist.
