Betty F. Rakers Obituary (1930 - 2006)

Betty F. Rakers, 75, of Pana died Sunday, January 15, 2006 at 5:05 a.m. in her residence. She was born February 13, 1930 in Pana, the daughter of Leroy A. Fern Viola McMillen Crowe. She had worked at several retail businesses in Pana. She had many varied interests and hobbies. Betty was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Pana; Ladies of the Elks and Arcana Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Pana. She married Charles Schafer on September 17, 1947, he died December 11, 1987. She then married Donald E. Rakers June 9, 1989, he died July 22, 2002. She is survived by her children: Judy Swenny, Pana, IL ; Charles L. Schafer wife Anna, Pana, IL; Janet Cloe husband Mike, Carterville, IL; Nancy Klein husband Brian, Rosamond; Son-In-Law: John W. Nohren, Tower Hill; Step Sons: Donny Rakers and Steve Rakers, both of Pana; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers: Harold Crowe, Virgil Crowe, Dale Crowe all of Pana; and sisters: Elsie Spurgeon Vivian Burnett, both of Pana. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, daughter Carolyn Schafer Nohren, grandson Roger Paul Swenny, and brother Kenneth Crowe. Funeral Information Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 17, 2006 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a .m. with Rev. Allen Ebbler officiating. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pana. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home.
