Obituaries

R.C. Litz, 38, of Pana, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. He was born October 21, 1980 in Decatur to Richard C. & Tresa M. (Vandenbergh) Litz, who survive in Pana.
R.C. lived all of his life in Pana and was a 1998 graduate of Pana High School. He received his associate degree in civil engineering from Lake Land College in 2001 and then worked 18 years for I.D.O.T. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana; Pana Moose Lodge; Pana Elks Lodge; Pana Eagles Club & Pana Knights of Columbus. R.C. loved hunting, boating & swimming, shopping, farming, motorcycles, grilling, renovating the old into new, and especially spending time with his friends & family. He never knew a stranger. R.C. had a larger than life personality and a contagious smile.
R.C. Litz and Tabitha Spinner were married on September 16, 2006 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis. She also survives in Pana, along with their daughters: Mallory Renee, age 7, Morgan McKay, age 5 & Memphis Lenay, age 4 months, all at home; his sisters: Vanessa (Kirby) Manuel, Pana, IL; Meghen (Mark) Montgomery, Shelbyville, IL; Twishia (Carl) Nail, Litchfield, IL; mother-in-law, Corinna (Randy) Wehrle; father-in-law, Tony (Carolyn) Spinner; brother-in-law, Josh (Andrea) Spinner; and nieces & nephews: Hayleigh Manuel, Karsen Manuel, Wyatt Montgomery, Sophia Nail, Xana Tomasello & Alyse Tomasello.
Funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana. Visitation will be Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana.
Memorials in R.C.’s honor may be made to an Education Fund for Mallory, Morgan & Memphis Litz at the Bank of Hillsboro in Pana or Cancer Care Institute for Neuroendocrine Research.
