Obituary for Kenneth J. Kramer

Kenneth J. Kramer, 71, of Tower Hill passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in his home. He was born May 26, 1948 in Pana, son of the late Benjamin J. & Lorraine C. (Mizeur) Kramer.
Kenneth lived his entire life in the Pana area. He was a 1966 graduate of Pana High School, before serving in the U.S. Army. Kenneth made his living as a farmer and was always a hard worker. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana and Pana Knights of Columbus. Kenneth enjoyed riding motorcycles, draft horses, flying ultralight airplanes and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a jokester and was known for giving everyone a nickname. He never knew a stranger and loved to visit. His greatest love was his wife “Mommie” & family, especially his grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Kenneth married Beverly Ade on February 4, 1967 in the St. Patrick’s Parish Hall in Pana and she survives in Tower Hill along with their children: Kristine (Eric) Beck, Shelbyville, IL; Angela (Tim) Jones, Shelbyville, IL; Beth Ann (Shane) Lawrence, Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren: Zachary (Kelsey) Beck, Dylan Beck, Mia (Brandon) Cox, Grady Jones, Whitney (Brayon) Cole, Morgan (Bradley) Holmes, Cain Lawrence, Destinee Lawrence (significant other, Dylan); great grandchildren: Whalin Cole, Baydon Cole, Maycelynn Holmes, Bradley Holmes and siblings: Charles “Chuck” (Janet) Kramer, Lakeland, TN; James “Jim” (Sue) Kramer, Decatur, IL and Mary (Terry) Kimmel, Pana, IL. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Kramer in infancy.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana with military rites by Pana Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the church.
Memorials in Kenneth’s honor may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana; Sacred Heart School, Pana or Quad County Hospice Veterans Program and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
